oh, the places you’ll go!

this idea was inspired by pinterest. told to me by a friend. a gift for my boys. something that will be 14 years in the making…

i bought the dr. seuss book oh, the places you’ll go! – the hard cover edition with a nice book jacket which just happens to be the “party edition” with a slightly glittery cover. i picked up two copies. one for quinn and one for tate.

at the end of every school year, i’m going to give the book to quinn and tate’s teachers and have them write a little something inside for them. on the day that they graduate high school, i’m going to give the signed books to them. filled with words + memories + love.

this is the first year i’ll be handing quinn’s book to his teacher. so i took a few photos of him holding his book. how fun it will be for him to not only read this book one day, but to also see a photo of his little 4.5 year old self holding this very book! and knowing my love of photo taking, i’m certain that i will somehow incorporate photos of the boys and their teachers from year to year…

i printed a letter to explain this book project to the teachers and taped it inside.

please enjoy this link to download a copy of the letter: click here to download the letter. (it is a psd file so you can personalize the letter with your child’s name.)

has your child already started school? no worries. begin anywhere! memory keeping has no rules. start this book project this year…

Jenn - Oh I adore this idea! What an awesome gift to have when they graduate highschool.

sara - yes!
my son is in grade three, but i saw this on pinterest too earlier this year…i bought the book and went back to his grade 1 and 2 teachers and asked them to write something :) (because i’m a little crazy and have to start from the beginning. haha)

anyways, love it!
and thanks for the letter, i’m going to print it off and include it for next year. i was just explaining it to the teachers, but it would help to have this included.
